ABOUT PARED EYEWEAR
PARED EYEWEAR is the creation of founder and creative director Samantha Stevenson and her partner Edward Baker. In 2011, Samantha’s design skills, coupled with Edward’s strong background in both fashion and retail industries, led the duo to set about creating a challenger brand in the global eyewear market while based in Sydney, Australia.
Samantha’s creative philosophy focuses on wearability while pushing the boundaries of conventional design and still staying true to eyewear fundamentals of high quality materials, smooth shapes and lasting comfort.
Pared launched with five unique styles in the summer of 2012. Since then, the brand has released a further five collections, with each range taking inspiration from places and eras evocative of sunny days and endless summers.
Pared collections and collaborations are eagerly anticipated, with the brand gaining a strong customer and influencer following across the globe. Samantha’s unique use of colour combinations and distinctive cutaway detailing, as well as her unusual material and surface treatments, ensure a point of difference among other eyewear brands.
In 2016, Pared also responded to demand for an optical range – adapting and evolving existing styles for this expanded market.
Pared has been seen on a number of celebrities including Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Brad Pitt and Michael Fassbender as well as fashion bloggers Margaret Zhang, Rocky Barnes and Susie Bubble. Both Pared as a brand and Samantha as a leading Australian designer have also been featured in editorials for Australian and international magazines such as Elle, Oyster, RUSSH and Interview.2016 Pared Eyewear was the first eyewear brand to be accepted into the Australian Fashion Chamber.Pared is also known for its successful collaborations with fashion labels and influencers, creating covetable limited edition frames. Notable partnerships include fusion lines with Australian jewellery labels POMS and Krystle Knight and cult Australian fashion labels Emma Mulholland and Ginger & Smart. The 2017 collaboration frame with Bec + Bridge Petite Amour launched at MBFWA on the runway for the resort collection and is in store from October 2017.
